What if the ghastly images and abominations haunting our collective nightmares actually exist?
Writer/director Adam Green (Hatchet and Hatchet 2) sets out to make a documentary exploring this tantalizing premise after being contacted by a mysterious man named William Dekker (Ray Wise).
Dekker claims he can prove that “monsters are real” and insists these grotesque creatures are forgotten, hideously deformed humanoids inhabiting a vast, underground metropolis of the damned.
Determined to expose the truth, Green embarks on a bone-chilling odyssey and gets more than he bargains for when he dares to go Digging Up the Marrow.
It’s one of those ridiculous ‘mockumentaries,’ in the vein of The Blair Witch Project. But without the cache. The film opened theatrically, in secrecy, without even an official website – day and date with Video On Demand (VOD).
Adam Green, born and raised in Massachusetts, is a member of the Splat Pack. The Splat Pack is a group of filmmakers that includes Eli Roth, Neil Marshall, James Wan, Darren Lynn Bousman, Alexander Aja, Rob Zombie, and Greg McLean. The term was coined by UK critic Alan Jones and a documentary was made on the group. By far, Adam Green is the best looking of the Splat Pack.
